A dental filling is made up of special material that is used to restore the function of teeth that have dental decay or have been damaged from trauma. The most popular reason for a dental filling is a treatment for a cavity. At Mirage Dental, our dental team offers both white composite dental fillings and regular silver dental fillings. Composite dental fillings are the more popular filling of choice, as they last just as long as silver dental fillings, but unlike silver ones, different shades of white filling material can be blended together in order to match the natural remaining tooth structure of your existing teeth. As such, they blend into the colour of your existing teeth and look more natural and inconspicuous. They also do not include mercury.

Because of a special technology known as 3M single bond universal adhesive, the white dental filling bonds more easily with your natural tooth, meaning you can avoid being numbed if that is something you would like. There is also only a small amount of natural tooth that needs to be removed when preparing your tooth for the white composite fillings.
